Troubleshooting

“DoppelGAN Camera” doesn’t appear in my meeting app
  1. Make sure DoppelGAN is open and you clicked Start Virtual Camera.
  2. Fully quit and reopen your meeting app. Most apps only check for new cameras when they start. For Teams, right-click its icon in the taskbar tray and choose Quit.
  3. For Google Meet in a browser, close all browser windows and reopen.
  4. Still missing? Reinstall DoppelGAN and click Yes when Windows asks for permission. That permission is what adds the camera.
My meeting shows a purple screen instead of my clip
The purple screen means the DoppelGAN Camera is selected but DoppelGAN isn't sending a clip yet. Open DoppelGAN, choose a clip, and click Start Virtual Camera.
It switches to my talking clip when other people speak
Use headphones. Without them, other people's voices from your speakers reach your microphone and count as you talking. You can also lower the Sensitivity under Talk / Listen mode, or press Ctrl+Alt+M to pause switching while you're muted.
Windows says “Windows protected your PC” when I install
This appears because DoppelGAN is new and not yet recognized by Windows. Click More info, then Run anyway. See the step-by-step install guide with pictures on the download page you were given.
How do I uninstall it?
Open Windows Settings → Apps → Installed apps, find DoppelGAN, and click Uninstall. Your recorded clips stay in your Videos\DoppelGAN folder in case you want them later.
Where are my recorded clips saved?
In your Videos\DoppelGAN folder. In the app, open My Clips and click Open folder to go straight there.

Common questions

Is it safe? Does it upload my video?
No. DoppelGAN runs entirely on your PC. Your clips, your webcam and your microphone are never uploaded anywhere.
Which meeting apps does it work with?
Any Windows app that lets you pick a camera, including Microsoft Teams, Zoom, Google Meet (in your browser), Discord, Webex and Slack. Just choose DoppelGAN Camera in the app's camera settings.
Does it work on a Mac?
Not yet. DoppelGAN is for Windows 10 and Windows 11 PCs. A Mac version may come later.
Can I install it on my work laptop?
Installing needs administrator rights, because it adds the DoppelGAN Camera to Windows. Many company laptops don't allow that. If yours doesn't, ask your IT team, and please follow your company's policies.
What happens after the 14-day trial?
Everything keeps working except the virtual camera. Your clips stay safe. Buy a license for $10 (one time) to turn the camera back on.
Can I use it on more than one computer?
Yes. One license works on up to 2 PCs, for example your work laptop and your home PC. Moving to a new PC? Release the old one in the app's settings, or email us.
